About Netzer Brisbane

Netzer, in association with the UPJ (Union for Progressive Judaism – Australia, New Zealand and Asia) runs an Outreach program to Progressive communities around the union.

Brisbane is one of the newer Netzer Outreach communities. Netzer runs Brisbane in coordination with Beit Knesset Shalom Synagogue.

Brisbane Outreach

Sydney madricha Nicola and Melbourne madricha Claire went to spend a weekend with the Brisbane community on the weekend of the 16th September. It was very successful and fun was had by all!

Some families even brought their kids from the Gold Coast to join this outreach with the Brisbane community so all in all we had a large group of around 25 enthusiastic chanichim (participants). We did many activities ranging from making decorations for their sukkah, navigating their way around Israel through various challenges, to the highlight of the day - making Israel out of ice-cream!

We received a lot of positive feedback and look forward to the next outreach to Brisbane, with the hope of seeing some Brisbane faces on summer camp in January.
